Afer two years of intensive development and dedication with guidance from green finance experts, capital market actors, and technology engineers, the Green Assets Wallet is finally being launched on the Chromia Mainnet. Green Assets Wallets will debut as the world’s first blockchain platform for validation and impact reporting of green bonds. This release event was hosted in Stockholm on December 12 with close partners of the Green Assets Wallet Green Assets Wallet (GAW) is the result of a unique consortium of leading capital market actors and technology innovators formed under the lead of Stockholm Green Digital Finance.
WHAT IS GREEN ASSETS WALLET?
The Wallet was developed to deliver efficiency and transparency to the green debt market in support of scaling the supply of, and investment in, credible green investment opportunities through cost-efficient and immutable validation and reporting of green impacts.
MISSION OF GAW
The Green Assets Wallet’s mission is to help accelerate the market for green investments in support of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals and the objectives of the Paris Agreement.
OBJECTIVE OF GAW
The objective of the technology is to support scaling of the green debt market by bridging green investors with potential investment opportunities through cost efficient and immutable validation and reporting of green commitments and impact.
IN WHAT WAY DOES GAW STAND TO BENEFIT FROM CHROMIA?
A relational blockchain like Chromia is ideal for GAW as it provides the security guarantees of a platform, and the complex validation and querying capabilities as a relational database. This closes the usability gap between centralized and decentralized apps to a great degree.
Kirill Kirikov, a partner at 4ire Labs and a key developer for the GAW while commenting on the launch, stated: Chromia is much more convenient for us as developers. It has made it easier for us to vastly improve user experience, the reporting system and search functionalities. In the future, we will investigate how to add information to the GAW even more efficiently. This would be especially useful for issuers with many green projects,”
CHROMIA MAINNET
The Chromia mainnet makes an app like the GAW possible, by supporting truly decentralised performance at scale. “We have worked hard to make Chromia ready for truly usable decentralized applications, it marks the culmination of almost six years pioneering blockchain technology. We are proud to host the GAW, and look forward to more world-changing applications made possible by the platform” said Henrik Hjelte, CEO of ChromaWay.
PARTICIPATING IN CHROMIA PROJECT
In Chromia you can get to be a dapp developer, user or tester. We will also be rewarding bounties and airdrops for those who work to acquire Chroma. Specialist providers can also earn Chroma by running nodes. With Chromia, developers can choose how they set their fees. If you want to have your dapp free to use, charge a monthly subscription, or anything else, you have the flexibility with Chromia.
We also think Chromia is easy to use. Once you try it, we know you’ll love it.
HOW CAN YOU GET STARTED ON CODING?
For beginners on Chromia, you can get started by checking our ‘dev preview’ documentation on our site. There is an integrated development environment, packaged in Docker, to help you find your way.
Conclusion
From my perspective, based and founded from various undiluted research, I would input that Chromia’s systematic approach to decentralized application development and innovation in gaming as and dApps, may hold the answer to mainstream-level DApp development. It is so much of an interesting and a thrilling journey, I dare to place a bet on it’s success.
