Week 1 with some Stats and Weekly Film and TV Group

in #cine4 years ago

Some stats first

Looks like we're nearing the end of week #1 and we've started off with a splash! We've already seen an influx of visitors right off the get go, and people are getting ahead and sharing their movies and TV reels and reviews. I must admit guys, so far I'm impressed! Really impressed. Well done.

Let's share a few beginner stats with you so far.

Website Visits

Since launch we have been collecting between 400 & 500 unique visits daily. That is an incredible amount to start off with, considering so many websites begin their journey with 1% of those daily numbers. I know, I've been in the game before!

I expect this is only going to get better as we expand and grow. I may even think about adding some ads to the front end and using the proceeds to buy and burn $CINE at a later date. Let's see how this pans out though.

Coin Distribution & Burn

I have been keeping track of our outgoings in a spreadsheet, which was suggested to me by @themarkymark. It's been an awesome idea because now when it comes to producing statistics I can then instead of spending a long time working it out, I can actually just take a screenshot.

This is what it looks like so far:

So if you look in this sheet I have issued a total of 2,281,457 $CINE. 281,457 $CINE is floating around in the Hive ecosystem, whilst the rest has been sent to burn.

Another nice statistic to look at is that nearly three quarters of our available coins are being staked. That's very impressive, especially for the beginning of a project.

What is next?

Okay, so I think we'll start off slowly. I don't want to overload you guys with so much to do and choose from that you get bogged down with options. One thing I've realised in my long career with humanity is that the more options you give someone the more confused they can become. One option is good, a few options is best, many will just leave people scattered and confused.

So I'm going to kick this off with a few ideas to get started. Then, as the months skip past we will introduce more and more things. Anyway:

Weekly Film and TV Group

We are going to kick off this week with a film for all of you to watch and discuss. This will run from today until next Friday, which will give you a week and a day to watch it and discuss it. I will be taking part too, because I think a great leader does so by example, and hey, I want to have an excuse to sit down and watch a movie in the middle of the day! Haha. Wouldn't you?

Okay, so, the first film I would like you to watch and discuss is:

Good Will Hunting

Movie here: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0119217/

Please be reminded that you do not need to take part in this if you don't want to, so all is well. But if you do wish to take part then here is a few things that I would like you to take note of:

I am looking for a discussion, and not a review!

So rather than telling me the storyline I would like to hear your thoughts and perceptions of the film as a whole.

Some questions you could be asking yourself is:
  • Do I like will?
  • What kind of background must he have had to be this way?
  • Did you enjoy the way he acted?
  • Did you notice a transformation in his thinking along the way?

Plenty of questions you could be asking yourself in this film and putting it onto here. You don't need to use my suggestions, you could absolutely create your own!

Today I'll create a Film and TV group on discord too so I'll know who to look out for!

High effort posts with lots of discussion will get rewarded well!

And that's it. Going forward we will choose the next person to choose the next movie and we'll all have a stab at it!

And remember you can delegate your $Cine to @brofi to earn BRO

Don't forget that you can stake and send cine to earn BRO. Cool huh? Plenty of ways to earn :)

Thanks for the update! CINE has great potential. I haven't watched Good Will Hunting in a long time, it'll be good to rewatch this film with fresh eyes, and some good will discussions. :-)

I will also be looking forward to see what the community suggests next :)

Good number for a start :)

It seems to be a good movie, I found in Amazon Prime but I can not see: /

At the moment, this video is unavailable
in your locality

The film discussion has the potential to be the most engaging segment on hive, great initiative!

Good Will Hunting is a pretty solid film to start with. I love that dialogue (or rather, monologue) by Robin Williams about experiences.

Looking forward to take part in this. :)

This is what I'm aiming for! Engagement is key :)

I agree with that, I can see this being the most engaging part of the community for sure. One my first post on cine got more engagement than 99% of my post.

Perhaps because everyone watches movies, as it is one of the most 'consumed' form of 'entertainment.'

And I personally feel an affinity towards movie going folks, like some sort of a common ground to stand on and talk about.

I ditto that! This discussion thread potentially can actually be the most engaging one till date.

Its been quite sometimes since ive watched the movie actually.. All rusty on all parts.. Mist rewatch it first to be a part of the discussion.

You know what, I should see it again as well!

Agreed, Got to watch it. Time to go download it 🤣

Agreed movies and tv shows most people in some way relate to each other.

I think we may have found the most engaging tribe to date.

Dam nice to see such a good amount staked for sure.

Great idea on getting the community to watch a movie give a discussion on it. I can't say I have watched that movie for many many years. Hell I kinda don't even remember it so I guess I will have to give it a watch.

It's impressive.

Yep. I'm rewatching it too - going to take part in it lol

I remember seeing Good Will Hunting in the theater when it first came out. Good time for a re-watch!

One of my favourite films of all time. Mostly because I can relate to it. Perhaps not the intelligence part - but definitely the out of place eccentric lol

I'm gonna have to watch the film again. I can't remember anything about the film outside of Minnie Driver. Lol!

It is a great initiative, Ray and I look forward to the discussions. Also looking forward to earn my cine's and stake it to brofi

Hehe, yes :) - I think a lot of you are :)

I've never really seen a tribe take off so quickly. This is amazing to me. Keep up the great work.

Hope we continue to grow :)

Interesting community. Finding time to watch a movie in the middle of the day is somehow unbeatable! Hike, it's time to take a break and take a break, otherwise I forgot when I watched the last film.

Does sound pretty good, doesn't it? :)

100% !!!

WoW a movie on mathematician
Just watched the trailer and looking for a full movie
guide me to the full movie if anyone here can!!

Maybe someone might be able to! But yes, it is a good movie for sure :)

Cool

Ice cool, man :)

That's Great!! I don't much about the economics of tokens but as you said it seems to be going good.
I'll delegate my $Cine to @brofi for sure

That's a cool idea. I loved Good Will Hunting when it came out, but I haven't watched it in many years. I think I'll watch it again before trying to write about it. One of my favorite things about that movie is all of the Elliott Smith songs.

I strongly believe in the future of this project (I’ve been waiting for something like this at Hive for a long time) and I want to make a delegation in Hive Power. It's possible, @cinetv? If so, how would it work?

Please, give me details because I really want to grow here and help more people who also believe in this project.

I am happy i just read that , though i shared my review on a movie i loved even though i did love Good will hunting
Thanks for clarification

Is there a separate front end?

I am loving this idea overall! I don't watch much TV, but I have been a movie buff my whole life. I've staked some #CINE, and I will do my best to jump into the discussions. Thanks for making this happen! :)

Is this intended to be a "book club" kind of environment where we're given a project each week or is it open to random discussion, as well? What if I remember something from Donnie Darko I'd like to discuss from a different perspective but don't want to re-watch Donnie Darko and discuss the work as a whole. Is this the place for something like that?

Does it always need to be discussion of a specific work or are discussions regarding the growth of the industry (socially, financially, etc.) appropriate?

Is this the place to remind everyone that Clint Eastwood once raped a woman on screen, within the first few minutes, to establish his character as the kind of guy who isn't gonna take any shit from anyone (High Plains Drifter), and to discuss what the fuck was wrong with us?

Would this be the kind of place where we watch several versions of the same title to discuss the evolution of the work and audience?

I like this idea and it seems off to a good start, but I don't just want more homework. :D

Yeah🤜🤛 I agree
