The Shawshank Redemption (1994)- Hope keeps us alive.

in #cine4 years ago (edited)

This is my first post on this Cinetv platform. Well many many best wishes for this initiative. It will undoubtedly quench the thirst for many cinema lovers and we would also get to see the contents about cinema in a place. So let's start with my very first post here about a very popular movie I watched last night.

Andy Dufresne who is a banker got allegations for murdering his wife and her lover. We got to see him sitting in the car with a gun next to the house where the murder took place. He was sentenced to two consecutive life imprisonment. He was sent to the shawshank prison where we get to see some narration by red who is also sentenced to life imprisonment for murder.

The first man and talked with was red, because red was like a smuggler who can get anything inside the jail from the outside and andy asked for a rock hammer. Red was shocked by such demand because that was not an usual call. Red thought andy would dig a tunnel and try to escape from the jail with the hammer but when he saw its size (a tiny rock hammer) he imagined 600 years to dig a tunnel with it.

Andy was the victim of sexual molestation, every today or tomorrow he would show up with new wounds. Times were passing on by this way. Andy was being close with red, for a rooftop construction work red managed to select his own friends to get some sight of the outside world. There andy did help an officer in savings tax at his 34000$ and for that he asked beers for his friends and they enjoyed drinking like a free man.

Andy was appointed at the library with Brook for work out of the laundry. Gradually andy started to help the others with financial advice and became quite popular among themselves and the main thing was the warden would make his financial account who would polish his illegal earned money as the polish ones.

Brook has got freedom on parole but he doesn’t want that. What would a man do in the outside world which he left 50 years back. He was so frustrated with this that he put a knife on someone's throat to end up in prison again. He got out of jail and couldn’t keep pace with the advanced world.

For red "Hope is a dangerous thing, Hopes can drive a man insane." For me this is the most important lesson from this one. Hope, for someone it's dangerous to have it and the other one living for it.

There came a prisoner named tommy, whom Andy taught education and passed his high school. He narrated a story of his previous imprisonment where he met with a thieve who killed the owner of a house who was with his lover and a high shot banker got sentenced for that, yes based on his story andy was innocent and that's the story. Warden ignored it and put andy in the solitary cell for months.

Later when he came out of that dark cell he got to know that tommy was dead because he tried to escape, really he tried to escape or was killed? Tommy was the evidence who could prove him not guilty by his testimony.
Andy did express his hope to red on that day. He expressed his desire to go to the Pacific beach in Mexico, start a hotel and repair the boats to go to the blue ocean. Andy even took a promise that if any day he gets freedom he would go for a place where andy first proposed his wife for marriage because something is there for red. What was that andy didn’t revealed.

Red was tensed on that day after andy's such conversations.Even Andy took a 6 feet rope on that day for him. They were afraid that he doesn’t end up giving up on his life. That was a very long night for red on thinking about Andy. On the next morning for the daily routine everyone came out except Andy. No andy didn’t come out on that day. What happened to him? Did he lose his hope of a blue ocean in Mexico?

After this the most amazing part begins, which i would like to keep for yourself to explore on your own.

One of the best movies of all time in my opinion. I say that and I am not a fan of Tim Robbins. Of course, Morgan Freeman is a dead giveaway because I dont think the guy appears in a bad film.

This was a long one but well worth the time to watch. The supporting cast in this, although not well known at the time of the release, did a great job.

Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman was outstanding in that film. I am not fan of them still i enjoyed it as that was a great one.

Yes that was little bit of long but the ending was worth of the time. I enjoyed that part the most.

Thank you for your feedback.
