This photo presents a marvellous perspective from Singapore’s Central Business District. It overlooks Chinatown, past the urban oasis of Pearl’s Hill Park, all the way to the many high-rise office towers and condos in the suburbs.
Shiny new and shiny old
The tile roofing in Chinatown indicates that those buildings were erected many years ago. Since Singapore is committed to preserving its heritage, these buildings will never be demolished or replaced. If anything, they’ll be restored and renovated to even greater dignity. Beyond Chinatown, the shiny facades of the new skyscrapers are evidence of Singapore’s growth over the past few decades.
For 3 years, I lived in the long, low, white building that cuts diagonally across the park (behind the yellow and green tower). Living there was almost like living in a park or a garden.
A City in a Garden
That park is definitely not the only greenery in the city, since all of Singapore is essentially a garden. If you were to look at the city on ground level, below the skyline of high-rise office towers and condos, you’d see swathes of greenery everywhere.
It truly is, as its recently adopted motto states, “A city in a garden.”![](https://images.hive.blog/768x0/https://steemitimages.com/DQmcPbgVULXz5EeJ5iSzqSa53ejppdmZg7hkC7PKqHf2TM9/image.png)

awesome photografhy bro looking beautiful and colourful 😍
I agree with you @majes.tytyty it's probably the greenest city in world. Been to many countries already but only in Singapore where I found trimmed trees along the roads or to any idle lot area, they make use of it by cultivating plants to keep a green environment. Though, plants and trees are found almost everywhere but they deploy personnels to keep it tidy all the time. Not just that, it is the only country in asia i know that it is safe to drink tapwater without sterilizing.
Yep, Singapore is the greenest. By far.
Actually, besides Singapore, you can drink tapwater in North America, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and Hong Kong, too. Anywhere else, it's out of the question... I believe.
Ohh, thank you for such information. All the while I tought SG is the only country in asia with drinkable water supply. Saving some cost for a bottled water.😊
..a perfect example of modernization, industrialization and yet being able to preserved rich history, culture and nature sir @majes.tytyty ..now I understand why you choose Singapore when I asked you, what city you would feature if you are to enter the #mycity contest (if you can still recall me asking😊).
Completely forgot. But you're right. Singapore would be my first choice.
It look more like a design rather than a photo to me. Nice one
Yes, much of Singapore looks like a design. But a natural, intuitive, well-integrated design. Oh, and surrounded by lots of greenery.
That's awesome
Amazing picss! Hope to got the chance to visit it someday.. Greetings from Venezuela!
Thanks, you should visit Thailand someday ... soon.
Greetings from here. How are things in Venezuela? We get conflicting reports, and it's not always possible to really know what's going on there.
I can imagine that... Everything on the news is truth but some of us are getting along with the whole situation and trying to do the best we can. thx for your interest!
I haven’t been to China town. When we went there we just wander around indian town. It’s a beautiful side of the city you captured. 😊
I love to travel here.it seems dream place to me..i can't believe such a wonderful natural beauty.
Singapore is a great place to live, but, for me, not that great of a place to travel. It's clean and green, but it's still a city. And I prefer the seaside or the mountains.
And ... Singapore is expensive!
I love the sound of a city in a garden
Yes, and it's an actual stated policy of Singapore to always plant more trees and plants, everywhere. It makes for a fantastic living environment.
wow awesome dude but I guess pic is over saturated
anyway awesome
No, in fact, there's very minimal saturation in this photo. With the natural mid-day light, it just turned out quite good.
Wooow amazing and beautiful I look like that its edited in photoshop
