Civiliation VI: Rise and Fall got released last week, and it's a good expansion that comes with additional civs and one additional leader for India. Some of existing civs have been reworked and some of the techs and civics are reworked also.
With the expansion comes the type ages for each era : Dark Age, Normal Age, and Golden Age.
To escape dark age, you need to get Era Points. To go to Golden Age, you need to surpass some accumulated era points for each era.
Which activities will yield you era points?
As far as I know, those are as followings:
- Converting enemy cities to your religion during war
- Overthrowing suzerainity of your enemies on city states during war.
- Converting holy cities to your religion
- First units using strategic resource
- First caravel
- Absorb free cities
- Overthrow governors
- Great people patronage using faiths/money
- Great people patronage using great people points
- First religion
- First techs and civics for each era.
- First circumnavigation (without actually navigating, by opening maps due to alliances is acceptable)
- Complete all four of your religion beliefs
- Starting inquisition.
- World Wonders (boy, AIs are making them more and more, Robert the Bruce for particular)
- Conquering enemy first capitals
- Fully promote a governor. I suggest Magnus. He is too OP, especially for your capital.
- Have the first Master Spy.
aside from those, there are also some dedication based era points, which will be rewarded if you chose that dedication and fulfill the requirement.
some which I remember:
- Get 1 era point per completed trade route
- Get 1 era point per building built from industrial or modern age
- Get 1 era point per cities converted to your religion for the first time
- Get 1 era point per defeating non-barbarian unit.
If you're in dark age, do not worry, and keep on trying to generate era points. If you're coming into golden age right after exiting a dark age, you'll get Heroic Age, allowing you to get THREE dedications that will rake you era points easily.
