"Flor do Abacate" by Álvaro Sandim has always been a work that stirred my imagination.
The original was published in 1913 for solo piano by the publisher "Nascimento Silva & Comp", and we can say that it is a classic of Brazilian instrumental music.
In this arrangement for violin and guitar I explored a contrapuntal tessitura most of the time, with the guitar alternating the solos with the violin, I also explored some rhythmic variations that are found in the recordings of Waldir Azevedo and Jacob do Bandolim.
The form is an AABBACCA in which all repetitions contain some variation. The tasting link is available here
