Top rope climbing (top roping) on the island of Malta by the sea.

in #climbing8 years ago (edited)

Fun and safe if done properly... I got these on a climbing day out on the island of Malta. It was terribly hot but luckily there was quite a breeze that made it all bearable, even enjoyable...

A slab wall is a rock face that has an angle less steep than vertical. The belayer is belaying the climber from the top of the wall with the rope securely attached to the harness of the climber through a double figure of eight knot, whilst running through a belay device that is securely attached to an anchor point at the top of the route.

I got these with my Nikon D40 and the kit 18-55 mm lens. There are 2 shots of me on here, but I can't say which of my friends took them with my camera.

And here's me...

Me again :)

Hope you like the post and please let me know what you think about the images. I really like feedback... :)

on the last pic the mountain is like showing a thumbs-up! thanks for sharing this, following you, Creutzy! Be careful when doing this!

Wow...I never thought of that, it actually does. You are so right, well spotted! I try to be as careful as possible when I go out climbing. I've been doing it for a long time, I know and trust my climbing partners. It is a very safe sport if practiced correctly, but accidents can happen as with any sport. This one just seems more dangerous. Not a big fan of taking chances with my life really. Thanks for the visit and follow, it is greatly appreciated and I followed you back! :) All the best!

I got yor back bro!

Thank you, me too! :)

That blue, man. It can't exist!

Oh but it so does...and it is awesome to see. I was swimming near there one day and the water was so clear that I think I could see the bottom of the sea clearly at 20 meters below. I haven't seen sea water that clear since.

Looks exciting and beautiful

Thank you! It is a great little place to visit if you like the sea. Also they have about 1600 established climbing routes on those tiny islands.

OMG.! awesome photos

Thanks a lot for the visit! I am glad you approve of them! :)

awesome, looks like a lot of fun :)

It so is... especially in that setting. I can only wish there will come a day when I will be able to go climbing on a weekly basis. Must switch country really.
