我们不得不提到的是在进入白金汉宫参观的入口处摆放着的那辆金碧辉煌的皇家马车，就是习近平主席在2015年十月十九日到二十三日访问英国期间，20号那天，英国女王伊丽莎白二世就是在白金汉宫广场举行隆重欢迎仪式的。
当天中午，英国威尔士亲王查尔斯王储和夫人卡米拉到习近平下榻的酒店，迎请习主席和夫人彭丽媛女士，同时，仪仗队在骑兵检阅场精心准备接受检阅。按英国皇家最高礼仪，伦敦塔桥鸣礼炮62响，格林公园鸣礼炮41响。
欢迎仪式结束后，在中英两国国歌声中，习近平主席在女王的陪同下，就是乘坐的这辆皇家马车前往白金汉宫下榻的，而主席夫人则在菲利普亲王的陪同下，乘坐另一辆马车返回白金汉宫。
当那辆出镜率超高的金色外观红色内饰的经典华丽皇家马车真真的出现在眼前的时候是很震撼的，感觉也很亲切。这辆马车是“不列颠尼亚御马车”，2006年，为了庆祝伊丽莎白女王的80岁生日，皇家收藏信托基金会委托马车制造商W.J.弗雷克林顿公司打造了“不列颠尼亚御马车”。
这辆马车从2000年开始制作，但由于财政和运输的问题，这份生日礼物迟到了8年，直到2014年3月才送到女王手里。“不列颠尼亚御马车”重2.75吨，总长5,5米，需要6匹马来拉。
马车造价高达62万英镑，据弗雷克林顿说，跟过去200年来英国王室添置的马车比起来，这辆马车含有的黄金更多，价值更高。它既有最现代的装备，又加上了富有历史内涵的元素，也被称为“移动的历史博物馆”。与传统的皇家马车相比，这辆马车要舒服很多，因为它拥有电动窗帘，水压独立悬架和加热设施等现代交通工具的元素。丹麦女王，韩国总统，俄罗斯总统以及皇室的大婚都会用到这著名的五驾马车。
