My Cantonese also learnt through watching HK Drama. And I was forced to speak in Cantonese by my husband... Lol... So Cantonese is the only Chinese dialect I can converse in. Hokkien and Hakka I can understand a bit, but speaking in those two dialects... Uhm... Super limited.

      😅
      We have to learn Malay because it's our national language. We have to learn English because it's the international language. We learn Chinese because it's our mother tongue . So not really genius... It's just because we have to.
