What a lovely city! I adore those kinds of brick buildings :) I think it looks a lot more like Amsterdam than Venice, and I agree that calling a place "the Venice of.." just because it has canals shows lack in originality. Beautiful pictures!

Joy this is a pretty impressive post about Bruges I appreciate your tour and knowledge of it too. Even on a damp wet day it still looks a glorious place as well. I am not to sure how women who wear high heels shoes will be walking over those wet cobbled stone streets thou without slipping a few times. Just as well they might have their big large bag on their shoulder for a crash mat to protect them landing from hitting those hard cobbled stones. Is the water there polluted that much by the boat traffic there?

Yes, I think I've never worn high heels in Belgium for 5 years. But I know some friends who can really handle it.
The water is clearer than Venice lol.

In London when I usually see a woman wearing her high heels with a big Mary Poppins bag around her shoulder as she tries to walk in a straight line whilst concentrating chewing gum like a goat. I think it might be torture for some of those women who do this virtually everyday too.
