What a lovely piece of history! It looks like such a fun time :)
Thanks katrinalewis. True, I agree, it was a great way to learn history :-)
Such an interesting academy! Would love to visit sometime.
Thanks for coming by, backlau.
Beautiful. Followed, hope to read more about China :)

Want to have your post on the map too?
Very beautiful.
It's amazing that they've kept it in such good condition. I wonder what it must be like to study in such an ancient school.
Thanks geekpowered!
The academy is so well maintained, isn’t it? Happy that you liked it.
It's good that they've managed to maintain it. I've heard there are some issues with people not maintaining buildings in parts of China.
There are so many sites being destroyed indeed, which was a shame. Unfixable loss (sigh...) we wish we had more culture and ancient sites left. It is a pity for a country with a long history...
very good post friends.

Huh? What? The university have nothing to eat? 😎
Hmm. You caught me on this. I didn’t find any food in the area.
I'll think the university have their own "good food". You just didn't a right friend there yet.
Beautiful university/academy, its older than most universities in the world. We wonder if it's one of the oldest around?
We would probably be like you - eating our way around the city if there isn't much to see. Yet, your father's recommendation is ace. We're sure that you are thankful for his recommendation! 😊
Thanks travelling-two. I don’t think it’s the oldest though, lol fact check it if I was wrong.
I’m indeed happy of this finding and the city of Changsha was great for food! Have you guys ever been there?
It's probably not the oldest. Well, in the world at least - we think that belongs to an Italian university.
We haven't been to mainland China yet, but its on the list. There's just so much to explore!
China is worth a visit but it’s not as approachable as other Asian countries because of the language barriar :( same here, long list, can never finish... need a world trip one day.
We've been told it's hard to in travel because of that fact. Maybe a good reason to learn one of the current languages: mandarin.
A world trip would be the answer to all our woes of not visiting all the countries in the world. It's more so the money rather than the time.
Hey I'm new here. Nice to meet you! I'm glad your father told you to go! Although eating lots of food sounds great, too. What is some of your favorite food in Changsha? The pictures are so beautiful!
Hey nomadicsoul, welcome to Steemit! It’s always nice to see new people joining this cool platform :)
My fav was those street bbqs you find everywhere in the city, although it’s not really Changsha specials.
Use winter to cast away the crazy crowd, I can confirm this is very effective.
It’s indeed a great tactic if you don’t care about the cold. I think the Chinese scorching summer is way unbearable than the winter XD
Very lovely. I'll be sure to come and visit the place.
Hiya, just swinging by to let you know that this post made the Honorable mentions list in today's Travel Digest!
Hmm, nice...and so tidy... I think they knew you were coming...so they have put away all the chinese vases and breakable things ;-)
作为湖南人看见好亲切!
湖南真好啊!
北京的夫子庙现在还招学生,上次去玩看到他们在搞什么大典,挺搞笑的
I would have loved to go to a university like that. It's like a dream. lol
I'd expect to see the warriors from Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon jumping along the roof tops. Cool place.
Wow! The buildings look so strong and sturdy even after 1000 years. They're beautiful too.
