The smartest people I know are sharing this Tomas Pueyo post on Medium. If you haven't read it, and you are in anyway affected by the coronavirus, please go read it now! It does a good job of breaking down the data that is CURRENTLY available on GitHub. That means that governments and people know this NOW. It's not a guessing game at this point.
If you still have "It's just the flu, bro!" family members (we all know somebody who thinks they're too young and beautiful to have this happen to them - hey, some of us even have presidents that think this way!), seriously, it's time to send them this link and plead for them to read it. Every day you delay beginning to self-isolate yourself, you make it 40% worse for yourself.
Do the math - 1.4^7-1. If you delay this for a week, you are statistically increasing your chances of infection by 954%! So GET THE FUCK INSIDE and stay inside until our governments, particularly France and the US, can get a handle on exactly what is going on. What I've heard from my friends in France is that they are being overrun by Italians, who are understandably fleeing the Milan epicenter themselves, and there is just no way to know how rampant the disease is, especially in Southern France. What I see and hear from my friends in the United States is they are just not testing, which means THERE IS NO WAY TO KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON. So again, GET THE FUCK INSIDE, please.
I've been in China dealing with the coronavirus for 7 weeks now. Truthfully, it's been a lot of freaking out, sitting in the apartment not being able to think about much of anything else, smoking some cigarettes and coming down with a sore throat from them and then freaking out some more about that, getting better from that, sleeping whenever possible at strange hours of the night, trying to figure out how to entertain the kid without TV, teaching myself to cook again, etc. Mostly boring, yes. But not that bad, really. Compared to the alternative, it's freakin' fantastic! All it takes to stop the spread of the virus is to go inside. It's really just that simple. The data makes this obvious:
But here's the deal. If you don't SELF-ISOLATE NOW, you, my friends in America and students in France, will be a part of THE WORST TRAGEDY of this 21st-century plague. According to models of contagion, the most affected countries that currently exhibit the most risk are the ones where people took this phenomenon less than seriously. They are about to enter a dangerous exponential growth phase:
And for what? Because you wanted to go to the bar? Because, like Rudy Gobert, you wanted to make a joke? Because you think "Oh no, this will never happen to me!"?
Don't be stupid. GET THE FUCK INSIDE and Netflix & chill, NOW!

I understand your point but is cool to go outside for a walk. This virus will not end humanity.
You can go outside for a walk! Just put on a mask and keep your distance from people you don’t know.

I don't intend to put a mask and is proved not to be effective. It is only good if you are sick.
The decline in infection rate in East Asian countries that have adopted mask wearing as a protocol would seem to indicate otherwise. But do whatever makes you feel comfortable, I guess.

I'm in the UK, and our government is alas still delaying taking decisive action such as closing schools.
They say people will get too lonely if they have to stay home for too long...
It sucks not having the kiddo in school. They need social interaction more than any other age group. But they also are steaming pits of viruses who stick their hands in their mouths, eat stuff off the floor and sneeze on everything! 😝

Not sure of the age, but Skype & co can help a bit with remote social interaction...
Not so much for a 3-year-old.
