I have been a volunteer of the International Conference for Buddhist Women these two days. Although I'm not a Buddhist, I'm glad to be involved in such a large-scale conference. There were 800 participants from ALL over the world, and it was a great opportunity to know new friends and make some cultural contacts:):)
我這兩天都是國際佛教女性會議的幫手。雖然我並非佛教徒，但我很榮幸能參與這種規模龐大的國際會議。這裏有來自世界各地的800名參與者，是個認識新朋友和進行文化交流的好地方哦:)
There were talks, meditations, discussions and WORKSHOPS!! Since I was responsible for some of the workshops, I was able to participate in these activities. As I mentioned in my previous posts, I love trying new things!
這個會議的活動包括講座，冥想，研討，還有工作坊！！因為我是負責人，所以可以參加他們的工作坊。我在我前面的文章中提過，我可是很熱愛嘗試新事物的哦！
1. Lotus Lantern
The first workshop taught us how to make lotus lanterns. These were the materials needed:
1. 蓮花燈
第一個是蓮花燈手工工作坊。以下就是需要準備的材料:
Firstly, turn a rectangular paper into the shape of a petal🌸:
首先，將長方形的紙折成花瓣的樣子🌸:
After that, stick the petals on an upside down cup: 3 petals for the first layer, 4 for the second layer and 5 for the third layer. Add as much layers as you like!! But don't forget that the last layer should be the green leaves🌱
然後，把花瓣貼在反過來的杯子上: 第一層3塊，第二層4塊，第三層5塊。自己想加多少層都可以哦！不過，別忘記最後一層應該是綠葉哦🌱
And this is my final product:

Guess what! The teacher was Korean🇰🇷!! And she said my Korean's nice! I'm really happy to hear that:) She liked me so much that she gave me FOUR DIY bracelet packs and some cute stickers as souvenirs :
我們的老師竟然是韓國人🇰🇷！她還稱讚我韓文說得好呢！能得到韓國人的認可，我感到很高興:) 因為她挺喜歡我的，所以給了我4包DIY手鏈和一些可愛的貼紙:
2. Coaster
The second workshop taught us how to draw coasters:) As time was limited, I only managed to take 2 photos:'( Look at my oversized T shirt LOLLL!! Because only XL's left, I had to put on the SUPER large one;p
第二個是杯墊工作坊:) 因為時間緊張，我只照了2張照片:'( 看我那肥大的T shirt hahahaha! 因為只剩下加大碼了，所以我只好穿著它啦;p
3. Food
Trying to fit in, I went to the vegetarian restaurant at HKU. It was delicious!! Actually, many people come to HKU just to try this restaurant (called Bijas)! It's like buffet but you pay according to the weight of food on your plate to reduce food waste. The soup and rice were free!! This set cost me around 6 USD ;p
為了更好地融入這個環境，我去了港大的素食餐廳。我還是這裏的常客呢！這裏的素菜真的十分美味，有許多人就是因為它(一念素食)才造訪港大的呢:) 雖然他們管它叫自助餐，但其實是根據食物的重量收費的，以減少食物浪費。不過，湯和飯是免費的！像一個這樣的餐大約是6美元;p
The thing in the middle is called Shumai (or Siu Mai), and it's one of the most popular traditional Hong Kong food. It looks BAD in this photo LOLLLL but it tastes like heaven! If you come to Hong Kong, you must try that!!!
盤子中間的那個叫燒賣，是香港最出名的傳統小吃之一。雖然這張照片把它照得糟極了，但它真的是超好吃的！如果你來香港，一定要記得去吃它哦！

Nice. I never think that Buddism activtiy can be this interesting.
BTW, donno there is a Vege restaurant in HKU, should try it later. I think I haven't been in HKU for 3 years already. Last time was only a reunion activity in the evening so didn't have time to walk around.
Thanks!! Some of the Buddhism activities will be kinda quiet but these ones are definitely very interesting!! Hahaha please do go and try the vegetarian restaurant!! I did an interview with their manager and knew that they hire visually impaired and, mentally challenged and retired people. They're nice!
Hey, i went pass that yesterday at The University of Hong kong right?? I didnt know there was that conference before hand, looks so interesting!! But is it only limited to females and no guys can join?? I am more Buddha/ Islam believer XD. But the art is so cool too, the lotus, so want to make one myself for the beauty of it!! Btw the vegetarian restaurant in the university of Hong Kong is actually quite good and full, they let you fill unlimited rice too if i recall XD quite a good place for a full meal!!!
Yes the conference lasted for more than a week! Haha that's right, only women can join this conference ;p so I wondered why there's no international conference for Buddhist men...Yaa the lantern is really nice haha although it's very easy to make :) Wow you've been to the restaurant!! Yup the food is really tasty, and the people there are nice!! They hire some retired people, which is a quite nice thing to do !
Thanks for your post! I know that you Leary Korean, but have not imagined that you even can fluently communicate with Korean! You get my respect again! Than have you know more about that religion? I think they are so wisdom, I don't know which terms should I use, they can solve a lot of trouble in your mind, instruct you to have another form of thinking.
Haha coz I used to be some Koreans' Chinese teacher, I practised a lot ;p thanks for your appreciation!! Umm during the activities I learnt more on the facts of the religion but haven't quite understand deeper meanings behind:) yup if you become a Buddhist, you'll become wise!! They teach you know to think in a different perspective.
How didn't you end up involved in a Buddhist conference if you aren't Buddhist? Haha. I know an amazing vegetarian restaurant in Hong Kong, if you find me in the chat rooms I can tell you. I may go there next week
Haha because I took a Buddhism related course at the University and my tutor was one of the organisers of the conference so I said yes to her invitation!! Really, which one? Umm chat rooms? Do you mean Steemitchat? Haha come on! Tell us where it is and let us know! ;ppppp

Oh, it is very nice! Buddhist is a nice religion! Although I am not a Buddhist, I think many idea from Buddhist are very nice and make people feel comfortable. It can reduce your pressure and make people feel more happy everyday! I have been to similar activities when I was in my college. I like it.
