Singapore

The coat of arms of Singapore was adopted in 1959 when Singapore gained self-government within the British Empire. The new moon symbolizes a young nation on the rise, the five white stars represent key national ideas, including multiculturalism. The coat of arms is supported by a lion and a tiger - the symbols of Singapore and Malaysia, of which it was once part. Beneath them is a blue ribbon with a golden inscription Majulah Singapura, which in Malay means "Forward, Singapore!".
