Cool retro / vintage analog camera theme at this small cafe

in #coffee3 days ago (edited)

Still talking about a unique coffee shop and this time I want to talk about Kopi Mandja again, previously I used to talk about their branch in Hang Tuah which offers a unique experience by allowing visitors to try local headset brands for free. This time, I paid a visit to their branch in Radio Dalam which is still in Jakarta and I was amazed with their cool and unique design. Lets find out how it looks

Once I arrived, it did look normal and plain. The place is small and slightly smaller than in Hang Tuah. But once I came to their entrance, I saw this Konica sign installed at the top of the door, I knew if inside they were going to have a great look and my guess was right. I entered and saw so many cool retro/vintage analog camera memorabilia inside.

Signs, posters, display objects, and even roll film of Fuji Film, Kodak, Konica, are displayed esthetically in the cafe whereas you especially the millennials, gen X and above, or those who are passionate about photography are not strangers with these legendary brands. What makes it even cooler is that some of the decorations and props are typical vintage/retro signs and posters that were commonly seen in Indonesian photo studios in the 80's - 90's era. Whether the props are original or replicas, it surely brings back a lot of memories, and for the younger generation who has not experienced this era, this place surely gave them a vision and education about how the photos studio in the past looks like.

As usual, I ordered their Kopi Mandja iced milk coffee which tasted just as good as the one at Hang Tuah branch at such an affordable price. Maybe, the only unfortunate thing about this place is the space. As it's not as big as Hang Tuah the seating capacity also remains small and limited, It is ideal for those who come in a small group or have drinks for takeaway but not for those who come in a large group or the ones who look for a place to work with laptop. Anyway, despite the tiny space that they have, this place brings back enough memories and nostalgia of my childhood when digital cameras did not exist yet and I will surely pay a visit again to here.
