We live & work on our farm full-time in Santa Rosa de Cabal, Risaralda Colombia producing our own brand of coffee. With the help of our farm manager Javier (who lives here with us, with wife Soreda, son Diego) who has a lifetime of experience working with coffee we are producing a high quality, single origin, micro lot coffee that is delicious. With hints of chocolate, caramel & almond it's distinct and clean flavor is beginning to win over many coffee drinkers who have been lucky enough to try it. We are now offered in 7 States around the US (listed on our website) or you can order directly from our website at cafezentimana.com .
We handle every level of coffee production....from growing, harvesting, processing & solar drying. We are not absentee landlords overseeing a coffee farm that show up from time to time to see how things are going. We wake up everyday here on the farm and do the work, doing this ensures us things are done correctly and the best way possible. We then take to a local roaster here in Colombia to keep money in the local economy. They also handle inspection from the Coffee Federation (a must before exporting) and exporting to the United States.
We love the reaction of the roaster when we drop off our parchment coffee and he randomly tests every bag for quality. Because we take the time to process our coffee with great detail we get showered with compliments after inspection. Our roaster, Louis, actually will show other people in the building who might be there how good our quality is by saying "this is how it's done"...he also makes it known that I'm a "gringo" new to the business but doing things the right way.
So, by purchasing our coffee you'll accomplish a few things......first, you're supporting a small business trying to do things the right way. Second, you will enjoy a superb cup of Colombian coffee made with a lot of love and dedication to quality. Third, by helping us financially (buying our coffee) soon we will be able to help more and more small farmers (like ourselves) make a better living by buying their coffee at much higher prices than they can get locally. Our goal is to start a "green" coffee supplier side of the business, supplying roasters back in the US with high quality coffee from small, independent, struggling farmers here in Colombia that would love to have their coffee enjoyed by others so far away. This coffee will be very exclusive, never mixed at a co-op, from only small farms that need the most help. Since we live in a coffee growing community high in the Colombian mountains we know first hand how hard it is to be a coffee farmer and we want to help these hard working people the best way we can....and maybe make their life a little better in the process.
So please, give our coffee a try by either ordering online or visiting one of our small retailers located throughout the country (WA, WI, MT, OH, OK, TN, NM). We are still aggressively hunting for more places to offer our coffee but if you're not close to any, please just go to our website. We promise you won't be disappointed;)
just to let you know, we are DIY type people, for example: The bag artwork, brochure, and website were all created by my lovely wife Ana
I'm also coffee farmer and social worker for farmer
Thank you to farmers giving much efforts to produce the best coffee possible. Congrats to the progress and good luck to your expansion! :)
