Coffee and Headache

in #coffee7 years ago

Caffeine contained in coffee can alleviate certain types of migraine (or better, headache) in its acute form and, for pharmacological purposes, it is often used in combination with an analgesic such as ibuprofen. However, chronic caffeine use and its drastic suspension may also be a primary cause of headaches (as if massive consumption of caffeine would become addictive);

moreover, scientific research has found a correlation between caffeine suspension and headaches ALSO in those who drink coffee with more moderation. Among other things, some studies have suggested that those who drink at least four cups of coffee a day (American coffee, not espresso coffee) are more prone to headache than non-consumers. This side effect, often associated with bad mood and alteration of cerebral blood flow, would be a facet of the physical dependence that caffeine exerts on the human organism.

Nice informative post, Coffee Really makes me happy and as far as i know Coffee is on the second number of Daily Trade Commidities in the world....

I agree with all of this. I gave up coffee for a month once and it initially sucked! Headaches, angry, tired but I made it through after a few days and all symptoms went away. I drink it now but I know when to stop lol

Its a controversial subject and as a heavy coffee drinker one that interests me - a lot of studies have been carried out on the subject:

There are many studies on this subject. Natural ground coffee is safer for health because it does not have chemical components that are added to a soluble drink, it has less effect on the acidity of the stomach. You can find it here https://myfriendscoffee.com/best-ground-coffee/

But it also contains more caffeine. On average, the amount of caffeine in instant coffee is 60-80 mg per cup, while in the natural ground it contains from 80 to 150 mg.
