Coinbase is safe in that it is insured. But they have closed account for no reason and nothing is completely safe. They have been crashing a lot as well. Though it is reassuring that they are a US company. As far as Polo is concerned, it might not crash completely but when you cannot trade at all for hours at a time it is actually worse then being down completely. Just imagine if it slows to a crawl, does this all the time, and only some people can buy and sell. But you are stuck and your trade dont go through. This has happened to me and I dont trust the infrastructure of the site at the moment.
