Here we go with another blog post about coins!
In this one, I'm going to share two of my favorite coins from my collection. The reason these coins are among my favorites is that they're in excellent condition, even though they're raw, and their designs are stunning compared to other Philippine coins.
The coins are a 50 centavos coin from 1944 and a 50 centavos coin from 1945, both of which are silver coins. Issued in the Philippines during the Commonwealth era under US administration, these coins are made of 75% silver and 25% copper and weigh about 10 grams. The designs feature a woman holding a hammer on an anvil and a smoking volcano on the obverse side. On the reverse side, you'll find the coat of arms of the Philippines during that time. The mint mark "S" indicates that these coins were minted at the San Francisco Mint in the USA.
For the value of these coins, it is usually based on their silver bullion value, especially the coins that have circulated details. Coins with uncirculated or mint state conditions are among the most sought after and have premium prices.
Did I say this are my favorites? Yes! I really like the toning, the condition and the design of this coins, luster and the fact that this coins are made in silver.
