Back in the 80's and 90's a time before kids were glued to their mobile phones we had trading cards and sticker albums amongst other things to keep us entertained and somewhat addicted.
I remember my first sticker album, it was a Thundercats book published by Panini for a reasonable price in the bid for the kids hooked to spend all their hard earned pocket money on the stickers.
Just look at how cool this was, I was totally obsessed with collecting and swapping with friends.
Skip forward 34 years and we have a new type of collecting, this time it's all on the blockchain with digital assets. My first introduction to the blockchain collectibles was " Cryptokitties" I can see the appeal however I never moved to that direction on spending ETH to have a digital picture of a cat. I recently had a look to see how much the cats are being sold for and believe me it's almost unbelievable !
Moving onto today and I have discovered a new network that trades collectible cards from the popular card maker TOPPS, they are currently using the WAX network to sell their digital assets. From what I gather they have sold out of the popular " Garbage Pail Kids " collections and they are now being sold on the digital markets for higher prices. Check these out
To close this article off, if anyone is into this stuff please let me know and point me in the right direction. I feel as it's sparked off some nostalgia that's been locked inside for 30+ years ( could be dangerous )
