Colorado is a great place to live and for me nothing in Colorado beats Colorado Springs when you evaluate the total package. I love this city and I will most likely never move away from Colorado Springs in my life. Our Crime is low, our weather is fantastic and you dont have to deal with the big city traffic although it is growing and has been since I moved here in 1980. For a city of about 500k people it still has a small town feel in many ways to me. If you ever get a chance to visit, dont miss a drive through the Garden of the Gods because it's the jewel of the city.

I wish I was old enough back when weed was going to be legal there, I would of bought property before the laws came to pass
I love your city, and it used to mine for a little while! The Garden of the Gods was where I brought anyone who came to see me, it was stunning and it was a great place (after securing the waiver) to go climbing and I now own a tiny collection of climbing apparatus. The absolute adrenaline rush when you almost get to the top. I liked it because it had all levels of climbing, from novice to Oh-my-God, you ain't gonna climb that, are you?
I once went to the Broadmore for a wedding and decided I could live there for the rest of my life. Truly. Seven Falls?
Pikes Peak? I sent postcards home from there because it was the one place my siblings would have understood how amazing it all was. Yes! You do live in an amazing place.
I loved it.

beautiful photos. and text
No doubt Colorado is one of the best city in the world. This city is on my list to visit in the future when I have enough money :P
Congratulations to all the citizens of Colorado.I am amazed to read about all the best things of your city.I will visit there if ever possible.
you should be proud of ur country because :
*Colorado is the only state in history to turn down the Olympics
*The Eisenhower Tunnel is the highest auto tunnel in the world
*The Great Sand Dunes National Park is home to the tallest dune in North America
The list sort of surprised me.
Despite the time I spent in Arizona I never went to Colorado Springs and never spent more than a layover in Denver some how. I had been to the South Western corner of Colorado but somehow always ended up going around Colorado for the most part. Love the West though.
Better be careful incase all the coastal elitist liberals will move to Colorado Springs and it will be ruined.

Oh yes, I read on the Internet that Colorado is an ideal state for living and recreation. I am glad that you think the same, it is interesting who took the first and second place?

Great scenary. I have visited lots of places in the States but Colerado is still on my list. Hope that I will get there sometime!
Cheers,
Peter
Sounds like a nice place. Its impressive that it maintained it's small town feel with a population of 500K. I say that about the town I live in and it only has 70K people. I guess it's a matter of perspective and relativity. Depends on what it's being compared to.

Qué hermosura de paisaje! Es lo que hace magistral a nuestra naturaleza! Saludos desde Venezuela, Bro!
I live and grew up in Michigan, but I’ve traveled all over the world. That said, honestly, Colorado is one of my favorite places to visit. When I was quite young, 5 to 8 years old, my next door neighbor invented a product that each of the “Big Three” automakers in America bought from him for a very large amount of money. He and his family moved to Morrison, Colorado. Our families kept in touch and they came to visit us when I was 24 years old. Before they left, they invited me to come back with them for a week or as long as I wanted really. They had a daughter that was my age and I had not seen her in years, plus they offered to let me stay in their 5000 square foot Guest home. So, I accepted their offer to visit Colorado for my first time.
They drove to Michigan from their home so I either had to ride with them or drive separately. Knowing how I am with exploring everything wherever I go, I chose to drive. So, I bought a brand new Jeep Wrangler Sahara thinking it would be the perfect vehicle to explore in, and of course it was. I literally could write a book about that first trip to Colorado but since this is a comment, I’ll have to cut it short. Everything you said in your post is so correct and then some. My 1 week visit turned into a 4 month vacation in which I visited EVERY city or popular destination Colorado has to offer. In the 4 months I was there, I only stayed at their Guest house for 10 days. The rest of the time, their daughter and me put 7,000 miles on that brand new Jeep and had absolutely unlimited fun 100% of the time. I understand that many people can not just take off like I did. However, if you have a chance to go visit Colorado for any amount of time, I can personally guarantee that the time and money spent will certainly NOT be wasted. That first trip was 15 years ago now and I’ve been back to Colorado 11 times. Of those 11 trips back to Colorado, only twice were trips to visit my old neighbors. Of course I always feel bad when I’m out there and I do not visit them. But Colorado has so very much to offer, that actually “planning” a trip there is quite hard to do. Anytime I visit a place and I can say that about the place I visited, I would say that is my way of saying “I Absolutely Love” that particular place. So, please do not pass up a chance to visit Colorado. I promise you will not regret it. Great post and thanks for bringing up so many great memories from Colorado, your home state.
