The Plains (not the mountains) of Colorado

in #colorado7 years ago (edited)

Yesterday I talked my daughter into going on a drive in the opposite direction. Opposite of the mountains that is. Here in Boulder we are right against the foothills of the Rockies. Anytime you go for a drive or a hike it's expected that the direction is West and will involve altitude gain.

We decided to reverse course and go East.

Dried up cornfields not too Far East of Longmont. And a kind of dumpy lake. St Vrain State Park. But the water reflections were pretty.

Then further North and East to Crow Valley State Park in the Pawnee Grasslands. It was flat.

Menacing low hanging cloud and cows... and cow patties. Not shown.

Next post I might have the photos from the other phone. They are amazing.

Peace out. Remember that half of CO is flat.
