Mother Nature's amazingly marvelous creations, have/had amused me, to the innermost core!!!...seeing them, feeling them, touching them and being with them is truly a wonderful experience, always! Yes!..It is!...Trust me! Its really divine, being a nature lover ! :)
In today's post, I am sharing something special that I come across, almost everyday, speak about it, literally...everyday !!! The BottleBrush Flower !!!
Nature's truly strange creation of a "flower"... a flower...not like a common flower with petals...but bristles instead !!! Interesting....isn't it !!!
Botanically, called as "Callistemon" and also most commonly known as "Bottlebrush" because of its cylindrical shaped flowers, that typically resemble the old n the traditional...bottlebrush!!! LOL ! I do have one at home !!! :)
Quite surprisingly, there are about 50 different species of "Callistemon" known and listed!!!
Callistemon, is definitely treated as Ornamental plant/tree, planted in pots, in gardens, making beautiful landscapes.

I have been long fascinated by the bottlebrush flower! The first time I actually saw one was a post from my friend in Australia. So very distinctive and just as you said, it does remind me of a bottlebrush!
I wonder how they came up with that name!?
Do you happen to know where they originated from? I find that the origin sometimes explains the unique qualities plants possess. Thank you for the breakdown in medicinal uses. Fascinating that it is used in so many different ways.

Nice Question...hmmm...I guess its only recently, in the 19th century, perhaps after the invention of bottlebrush...someone would have started that comparison with the flower and that probably became popular !!!

Someone would have inspired from the flower to create the "Bottlebrush"...hence the name !!! Rest is the history !!! LOL ! :)

This callistlemon is nice in apperance, i will like to have a beautiful flower like this in my compound. The color, especially, which is my favourite color-red looks stunning.

I have an older, decent sized bottle brush plant out by the road of my house. I keep it trimmed in a ball shape, approx 5 ft tall. It puts out a bunch of color!

Bottlebrush flower is also famous in Korea.But It's only indoor plants here.
