Well I had to get my wife to help me with Sunday purple. I cannot tell it apart from blue with my colorblindness. So here it is;
I saw a storm brewing when I was in Karratha. I drove to catch the front of it and take a photo:
All well and good, but the wind came in so fast I had to run to the car and hide. As I opened the door the wind took the door from my hands and blew it backwards. I grabbed the handle and tried to close it against the wind, but the handle ripped off. I panicked a bit. I put the keys in the ignition and put the window down so I could grab the door and struggle to shut it. Finally closed it. Then pressed the button to close the window. Finally safe. My arse I was safe. The storm that followed was so intense I could not drive off. I could not see 1 m ahead of me. The wind was so strong the car was swaying back and forth. Rocks were hitting the car with a ping. Best I could hope for was the wind did not pick up a big rock and put it through a window. 30 minutes of pooping my pants at seeing total darkness, and then bright flashes with thunder roaring through the car and my body. Silence....... A flash....Thunder..... I was behind the front. Quickly set up my camera again and SNAP.......
My Color Purple Sunday.
It was a rental car and damage was consistent with other cars in the town so got off without paying extra for damage. Phew.
