Color Challenge - Tuesday Orange - Urban Jungle Camoflage

in #colorchallenge7 years ago (edited)

Held back this shot from my recent adventure at Castle Hil to use for the #tuesdayorange #colorchallenge. For some reason I often have a hard time finding orange things to photograph, but this tiger hiding in the urban jungle is awesome.

In this particular composition the purple tag does make this a bit more interesting. But the one thing that makes me sad about Castle Hill, is that a lot of the time people will just spray paint a very simple tag over a really excellent piece of street art.

Someone spent a bunch of time on this sweet tiger (and since I go there pretty regularly I know it hadn't been there more than a few weeks) and then someone else just decides to write "call me" over it. Why? Do they want to ruin it? Do they think that it will make more people look at "elycat"? Or are they just too lazy to walk ten feet up the hill where there's lots of space to scrawl anything and no pieces that took someone hours to create?

I guess that's the wild world of street art for you. It's a temporary piece of art, that can be changed not just by people, but also the sun, animals, or the weather. That is probably part of why I find street art so interesting, because it doesn't last, and you have to catch it at just the right time.

That is some sweet art, shame someone had to ruin it like that.

It is indeed, but I guess it was inevitable

Great way to live in the moment though.
