Happy weird Wesnesday my Steemians. I spotted this weird fungi during a recent hike. Wish the pic had turned out a bit more clear. It was all by its' lonesome and not in a clump like you usually see mushrooms. This'll be my #ColorChallenge Wednesday yellow.

That thing looks highly toxic!
Great color though!!
Appropriate gif. And yes it was I spent three days in the hospital. Sure miss all my franzz in shroom land.....
Don't take chances with anything you're unsure of. That said, it could be a chanterelle. Those are good.
This book is the easiest identification guide I've come across, at least for the west coast: All That the Rain Promises and More: A Hip Pocket Guide to Western Mushrooms.
Eating wild mushrooms is liberating, even the "boring" ones.
:)
@olyup I would love to. Always wanted to trip shrooms. Closest i got in my "hallucinogenic" journey was salvia. I would be so afraid of killing myself eating an encountered shroom guide or no. Maybe i just need a shroom expert. Lol
Cool.
I was on a forage, last month, and found some crazy big ones about that sort of bright yellow color too. They were very slimy and the shape was nonspecific.
This one appeared almost gel like
Ah cool. And slimy too, I bet! ^_^
Didn't touch it lol
wonder if it was edible or possibly even psychedelic.
I like your ColorChallenge post. I enjoy learning about new people and different cultures.
Any way if you and anyone reading this would like to see my #colorchallenge post

@chelsea88 Amazing job! Followed.
Thank you :)
Different types of mushrooms really do fascinate me for some reason. That looks interesting for sure!
It was a strange one! I love mushrooms also
