The Magical Blue Forest
The enchanting forest of Hallerbos in Belgium seems to have a carpet of blue flowers, when at the end of April and beginning of May, spring time, a large part of its 552 hectares are decorated by the vibrant bell-shaped flowers.
It is the flower known as bluebell hyacinth or bluebell, which grows in several European countries during the spring. Its characteristic color is lavender blue, it has a stem that reaches between 10 and 13 centimeters in height; In the upper part of the stem, a slightly inclined bell-shaped flower adorns these forests and subtly perfumes the entire area with its pleasant aroma.
The place is open to the public for visitors who arrive
especially during the few weeks when the area is covered with blue hyacinths, between April and May.
This area can be accessed by car or public transport from Brussels or nearby towns.
In the forest you can take walks to enjoy the tranquility of the place and come into natural contact with plants, shrubs and other considerable amount of flowers such as daffodils and primroses that grow in addition to the bluebells.
