In high school, we're thought that cloudseeding involves spraying 'salts' in the sky, for condensation to take place. It was not cost-effective back then and you need existing clouds and you need to get other conditions right for it to work. If it's no longer table salt (NaCl) they're spraying, it would be a cause of concern.
