I like to stay in residential areas when traveling (rather than hotel/hostel) so I can "live like a native" and shop for food that I can make in a proper kitchen and watch the local television channels. Suffice to say, I have watched a lot of American programming in foreign countries, and it's awesome. Here's an example from my trip to Denmark in 2012 when I stayed at a friend's flat in the East Amager neighborhood of Copenhagen and caught the epic space opera Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back:
DANISH:
Leia - "Jeg wil hellere kysse en wookie"
Han - "Det kan ordnes"
ENGLISH:
Leia - "I'd rather kiss a wookie"
Han - "It can be arranged"
Happy to report that "wookie" is a universally understood word!
