Lemons, one of my favorite fruits! Chock full of vitamin C, refreshing and stimulating, I drink lemon water everyday as an invigorating tonic.
But back to the theme ' When life gives you lemons....' well you know the answer, make lemonade! Or lemon water as I do!
Life is always throwing us curve-balls, we never seem to really be able to relax, with one crisis or challenge after another. We're always told to stay positive, be optimistic, and look on the bright side. This is difficult for many of us, especially if we are sensitive souls and the weight of the world is not easy for us to shrug off.
We really need to be okay with our emotions, accept how we feel, linger in the pain if we need to, grieve and cry if we need to. Unfortunately our culture emphasizes the positive emotions at the expense of so called 'negative' emotions. Sometimes our greatest ally can be our shadowy dark self who can teach us and guide us back to health.
I prefer lemon water as it is not quite as sweet as lemonade. I want to taste the zest and bitterness of the lemon in all it's glory (watered down a little bit of course). Without lemons we wouldn't have all of the wonderful culinary delights that we find in foodie land. Life would not be quite so interesting and appealing.
So here is my offering for #wednesdayyellow #colorchallenge, straight from my soul kitchen to yours.
Embrace those lemons, don't be afraid of their sour nature. There's lots of hidden benefits to them!!!

A great characteristic of lemon is that the metabolic product of lemon juice is alkaline which slightly increases the pH in some of the tissues in your body allowing them to harbor a greater concentration of oxygen! More oxygen, better health!
Yes! I learnt that when my mother developed cancer and I was looking for natural health solutions for her. It's counter-intuitive that acidic lemons create alkalinity! Cheers to good health:)
