Pink cone flower

The cone flower which is also known as ‘Magnus’ or its latin name Echinacea is a perennial with narrowly oval leaves and flowerheads to 10cm wide. It has drooping deep pink settles and an orange-brown central cone.
The latin name derives from the Greek work ekhinos meaning “hedgehog” which i presume is down to its spiny centre.

However the best thing about this plant is that butterfly’s and bees love it!!
Lovely photos! Interesting about the Greek meaning, 'hedgehog', as it kind of does resemble one - lol!
