I love local places who still make an effort to hang banderitas or fiesta banners. Even barangays here rarely use it now.
I could still remember the days when we were reading Noli Me Tangere. The great author and national hero, Jose Rizal, did use the term on his book which described the lively and colorful fiesta back in those days. And yes, banderistas remind me of Filipino games, kainan from house to house, loud marching bands, and singing contests and pageants.
Can everyone bring this back again?
