Yeah, yeah... everybody is busy. So I will not use that as an excuse for my disappearance. The thing is, I can not put the excuses into words so let's keep it that way. I am just happy to be back writing again. 😊
I wonder who among my old Hive friends are still here. And of course, it will be great to know more.
For my rebound post, here are a couple of shots taken five days ago during our travel to Sagada, Mt. Province.
Close-up shot on a rock mountain along our Paytokan Hike with Echo Valley on the background.
All of the other tourists who climbed the rock stopped at that portion in front of me. With its "worn" shade, I guess it is obviously the "road usually taken" so I aimed for the higher one at the back. "Ikaw lang talaga ang umakyat diyan ha!" Our tour guide exclaimed. That is basically saying I am the only daredevil who took the courage of climbing that rock at the back. Well... one day, my knees will not allow me to do so and I may not pass this way again so it is now or maybe never!
The mountain at the back is called Echo Valley which we traversed throughout the hike. I did not realize its "valley" name until now that I am writing about it so no, I do not know why that mountain is called a valley. 😄
More about our Sagada trip on my next posts. Hanging coffins coming up...
Well, well, well ... @macoolette is back writing again! 👍🫡
Hopefully I would be counted among your old Hive friends. While I have ... "pruned" ... it considerably, you are still on my list of people's work who I follow, even now.
As for me, my investment in Hive ended, as explained in my 6th anniversary post.
For you and others still laboring away on the Hive blockchain, I'll still be writing comments, from time-to-time, to support your efforts.
Great lead picture. You are looking happy and healthy! All the best to you, as you resume your adventures on the Hive blockchain! 👋

Hey there, @roleerob! I thought I would start another introduction so it is really nice to see familiar names here on Hive. Though, I am a bit stunned to know that you ended your investment effort on this platform. I am trying to extract the reason from your long 6th anniversary post but I guess I am overwhelmed as I caught only the "downvoting" thing. Is it? What happened?
I am amazed (and still overwhelmed) to know that you have a lot more investment "gigs" outside of Hive. Any one in particular that you would recommend without aggregating my amazement of technicalities? 😀
It is good that you stayed even without the investment purpose. And thank you for keeping me in your following list. Since you are still here then why not post for the socializing part of it?
🌄 Good morning (here)! ☕
In a nutshell, yes, this is it. In the section mentioned, you will find links to the core "End of the Road" post. In which I attempted (knowing it was a waste of time, but ... just to get it "immutably enshrined" in this blockchain ...) to appeal to the "big boys" about addressing HW's destructive tendencies and hold them accountable ...
It is important to me that others understand (which is most typically the case) that I was NOT PERSONALLY the target of the downvotes. Someone else was ... I divested due to how these types of actions are destructive of the time, hard-earned $$s, etc. that everyone else puts into trying to make this blockchain a better place. And, therefore, a profitable investment ...
Yes, there is an undeniable ... "power" ... associated with this. I don't pretend to fully understand it, but ... In spite of what I have just written above, many go on in spite of the obvious ...
Removing money from the "social engagement" part of the appeal of participating with others on this blockchain tells you a lot, very quickly ... 😉
Hmmm. Can't answer this one in a sentence or two ... 😉🤷♂️ I first began investing in crypto assets in August 2017 (including
SteemHive), so I know a little bit about it ... Hahaha ...Seriously, I guess the best answer would be whatever interest you have in following up is fine with me, as I am retired. So ... I find Discord a great place to "talk," if that is appealing to you. Send me a Friend Request in there and I will respond to it. I am @roleerob in there, too.
It took time for me to follow the different links in your end of the road post but I have to admit I am still not clear about the downvotes. Given that people in here, with big or small investment, came for the money (aside from the community, duh!), downvotes should only be done on extreme cases. So why on Earth were you downvoted? And how frequent was that for you to totally stop writing?
As covered in my post, I wasn't ... You may wish to think me in the way I refer to myself, from time to time - a contrarian ...
How so? Most everyone else, if they quit at all out of frustration with downvoting, do so because they have now experienced firsthand what they have likely witnessed happening to others. Not me ... Why?
Simple. At least, to me ... The "in my face" attempt to bring down another Hivian was unacceptable to me, in general. In particular, these actions are destructive to my investment. I invested to have it increase in value. Read the first part of my post, where I cover how that has gone ...
Others may view it differently. Fine! All are obviously free to do as they wish. How delusional are they? Well, clearly that is a matter of opinion and a topic that others have gone round and round on for years.
Agreed. Note well I did NOT say I disapprove of downvoting entirely, as is true for some (usually those who have suffered from it firsthand). I appealed to the very few accounts on the Hive blockchain that actually can make a difference, to take a close look at this. Details in my post ...
Response? "Crickets" ... As expected ... Technically, I did have a DM with the ... "manager" of HW, at the request of someone else. I will not characterize that other than to simply state it was a waste of my time ...
I am still here writing. Supporting others. Having "severed" the link between doing that and ... "getting paid." Human nature being what it is, if anyone is willing to consider the Hive blockchain a ... "social experiment" ... then we all have our opinion as to how that is working out ...
I've made my decision and +$25,000 is now gone from an investor who should've made that decision much, much quicker (covered in "Strike 1" of my own comment to my post).
Thank you for the questions. And for investing your time in reading my post. The response here is hopefully helpful. If you have any follow-up questions, comments, and / or concerns, please feel free to let me know.
So it's this an official welcome back? Welcome back. It's been over 2 or 3 years that you've last posted. How have you been?
Well, yes it is an official comeback (crossing my fingers) and thank you for the welcome.
Pandemic aside, life has been good outside of Hive. How about you? How's Hive these days? I am overwhelmed with the dApps now. I feel like I have a lot to learn again...
Well, as for my Hive, I have a chronic condition and it's caused a few complications over the years. Over that period of time I lost my mother and my brother and I've just been taking it easy.
Yes, a lot has happened with Hive, so many changes and dapps, but the core of the chain still remains. For example, some of the people you use to know might no longer be on the chain. There are new faces everywhere but I can tell you that the Blockchain is better than it was. Lastly it's the bull run year and there might be an alt season very soon.
I am sorry about your mother and brother. I hope you're doing okay.
I am not technically versed in interpreting blockchain indicators but the bull run and alt season sound so promising. 🤞😊
In 3 to 6 months time, the alt season will be in full swing lol, so. You heard it first hand from me lol hahaha
I am crossing my fingers and looking forward to that. 😊
WELCOME BACK, @macoolette! No explanations necessary -- to whom do you owe them? Just glad to see you again!
It is good to be back so thank you @deeanndmathews!
I just thought people may be asking where I have been or what happened so I took the lead of keeping it that way. 😄
See you around...
Musta po?
Mabuti at naingatan mo ng maayos ang iyong Hive keys.
Hello po... With God's blessings, okay naman ako.
Ay oo, nakatago pa rin Hive keys ko kahit ilang taon pa yan. Pati nga yong Steemit keys ko eh (kung alam mo ang kwento ng Steemit 😊)...
welcome back Maam
Thank you! 😊
Hello, welcome back to US. 🥂

Great to see you back writing, macoolette!Your Sagada photos are breathtaking, and the story behind them is compelling. This post is a perfect example of how personal experiences can make for engaging content.
Thank you, friend!
I got a bunch more of photos from our Sagada travel, which make it difficult for me to choose what to post. 😄 Let's see...
Maligayang pagbabalik po. 😊😊

Welcome backuuuuu ✨☺️. And I'm sure you are so proud for being the only one who would be able to climb up that rock. That's really cool of you, adventure kung adventure ano po 💪💪✨
Oh yes, it was my pride being the only one climbing that rock alone hehehe... Sabi ko nga, baka di na maulit ang pagkakataon kaya now na! 😄
Welcome back! Another mountaineer is writing! I love reading posts like this one. I want to try hiking soon (more mountain) since I only had one:)
Thank you! I am not really a mountaineer. I just try to be one when I can 😄
Where was you only one climb? I suggest you go to Mt. Pulag this February to March while weather is still cool. So you will experience what I haven't yet, then you tell your story. 😊
I only had Mt. Tagapo since it's the nearest mountain nearby. I actually shared fun experiences for many times!
Maybe soon, I'll go to Mt. Pulag hahaha!
Yeah, that's my line too. 😊
Me encantan las imágenes, no hay como la naturaleza
Thank you!
Welcome back! 😆
