Ha ha ha! Yes, this punch line would get old pretty fast! Matt looked into unincorporated areas and found some in BC but not Alberta. The trouble for us would be moving away from our support network and finding work in the middle of nowhere. There are always pros and cons to weight, aren't there? We're curious, what do you plan on doing for work if you're in the middle of nowhere? -Aimee

Well that is the nice thing about my job. I work for the province's highway maintenance contractor here and they also have contracts in other areas, so I can transfer to a different area.
When we move I will just want to work in the winter, plowing snow, so I have spoken to other contractors in areas where we are interested in going and they have all said that they need extra help in the winter and would love an experienced plow operator.
This way we can focus on our homestead goals and still have a decent income in the winter, when there isn't much happening.
That actually sounds like a really smart plan. Sounds like you have things figured out!
