Usually I’m more on the ball about these things in giving you guys fair warning, but my mind is in the clouds as of late...and for that I apologize. Ya see...today is a fun day built around getting more folks (especially kids) to pop on into their local comic shop and start their journey into reading and collecting in the wonderful world of comics. It’s Halloween Comic Fest!!!
Straight from the website...
Halloween ComicFest is the comic book industry's premiere fall event, where comics from publishers like Marvel and DC are given away absolutely free to people at local comic shops!
That’s right! Today is a day where you can walk into your local comic shop and snag some free comics!!! Every shop is different so I’d be sure to hop onto the site above, e get your location, then call to see if they are participating.
Some shops make huge events out of the day with Artist signings and sketches, games, costume contests, sales, and more!!! At our shop, we are lame and just pass out the comics to whomever wants em. We tried in the past to make this day a bigger deal and it just never really took off so we participate...just at a somewhat lazy level. But hopefully your local shop is doing something kickass!!!
There are tons of books to choose from so get ready to stock up...although I will give the ol’ advice of not being “that guy”. Ya know...the dude that just goes into the shop, grabs the freebies, then bounces. We all know “that guy”. Don’t be him. Spend some time at the shop and make a purchase. As shop owners, we do NOT receive these for free. We purchase bundles of them to be handed out for the general public. So be sure to support the shop and buy a comic or two, a Funko Pop, or a toy. Supporting small local businesses makes a strong statement and is very much appreciated by the shop owner.
Anyway, onto the books!!! The following are full size standard comics!!!
Here are the minis which are about the size of an ashcan (for those who know Comics)
See ya at the comic shop!!!

God damn it. All the comic shops around me suck fucking dick where I don't wanna step foot near them. But, I really would like a few of these. Maybe I just need to open up my own comic shop, with blackjack and krokodil.
Lmk which ones you are interested in. I’ll see if I have any left over.

That’s really cool, @blewitt! I hope you have a successful event and gain some new customers and that you’re busy as heck!
The event is pretty much a dud to be honest. All the books they release are reprinted material. Nothing new so it’s nothing unique or special. I just wish The publishers made an effort to do something unique for these days instead of being lazy.

Every year AlternaComics Kickstarts a Halloween sale where they unload stacks of comics for cheap so that anyone (not just comic stores) can give out comics for Halloween. I think that's a great idea... and way to late for anyone here to take advantage of it.... but NEXT year...!
That is a great idea. I’ll definitely try to look into it and promote that at the shop for our customers. Would be nice to see more comics get in kids hands.

sounds like fun, when I lived in Barcelona we had an anime and comic convention there but now I live in a small village where I'm pointed as the geek one out LOL
You are the only geek now. How lonely. Lol.
