NFT Showroom - My First Few Days Have Been an Incredibly Fun Success!

First off, a huge thank you to everyone who has made my first couple days on https://nftshowroom.com an absolute blast. I will admit that obviously a lot of the fun has come from the fact that my stuff is actually selling! At this point I've sold the original artwork to the cover of "I Thought It Would Be Zombies..." #1, along with 7 of the limited edition color prints of the same image, out of a total of 30 that were minted for the edition.

@mr-monk gets the honors of being my current top patron with his generous support, buying the original cover as well as three! copies of the color print. @aggroed, @richardfyates, and @mattclarke have all lent wonderful support to this first batch of prints... as well as one other person who I'm not sure who they are at the moment! Make yourself known in the comments if you see this, take a bow!

NFT Showroom is absolutely a work in progress but the potential and already unbridled enthusiasm within that community is inspiring. Optimizations to the sites function, load times, and design are incoming soon, as @juliakponsford patiently informs folks of, every 5 minutes in the Discord chat! 😂 After this Alpha stage, it'll be much easier for me to track the sales of work and properly thank everyone who shows their support.

Through these sales, I cleared just sort of 600 Hive in a couple days... which is remarkable! These funds and my Hive account in general are all earmarked toward allowing me to produce more content and pursue a career in comics. For the time being I banked a bit of those tokens, powered up a bit, and of course had to support the Showroom by beginning my own collection!

My first purchase was "Feeling a Bit Wobbly" by @richardfyates. I knew I wanted a piece of his work and it was one I was most drawn to. However, I actually purchased it from @aggroed who was reselling it from his private collection! (I would have gone for "Psychic Bunny" but it wasn't listed for sale!)

Eventually, NFT Showroom will have systems in place to pay artists a small commission on every resale of their work. I don't believe this is in effect just yet, so sorry for not getting some Hive direct in your pocket @richardfyates, but I know I'll hit you up again soon! And look... there's already an aftermarket for your work!

I also picked up a copy of "A deeper soul," which is @mr-monk's first tokenized work on Hive.

I'm debating my next steps as I move forward with NFT Showroom and "I Thought It Would Be Zombies..." As I mentioned in my last post, it is my intent to release the original artwork pages for the comic as one of a kind tokens, recreating the current industry for physical comic original artwork here in the newly emerging blockchain technology space.

I'm eager to keep a presence (and admittedly an income!) on NFT Showroom, but am not sure if I want to offer pages for sale as they are completed, or only once the entire issue has been completed. I'm leaning toward the latter, which means pulling together some ancillary offerings to fill the void as I work toward completing the first issue.

With that in mind I brushed the digital dust off this piece which I began late last year and some of you may remember seeing in a previous post.

This illustration of Julie, the heavy hitting dryad "muscle" from "I Thought It Would Be Zombies..." will most likely be my next upcoming release on https://nftshowroom.com, so keep an eye out for it if you want to add it to your own collection!

Thank you again to all my supporters, and all you art aficionados exploring this wonderful new facet of Hive.

My pleasure!
First of all, when I found your art I immediately shared it with my friends on telegram and the next minute I was transferring funds to buy your inks. I was amazed with your Pro quality.
I can still remember the feeling when saw my first artwork tokenized sold.
Hope to see you soon with successful sales and taking a deeper dive into this new world of the Non Fungible Tokens. Cheers my new friend, and thank you for picking up one of my skulls!

Well thank you again for the high praise and showing my stuff to others! I'm working at turning the corner and approaching my art much more professionally, both in terms of quality and pursuing a sustainable income from it. Your words of encouragement and purchases go a long way toward enabling both.

If I can get my head around the tech side of this, this could be a good idea in the future on my own work. So thanks for being inspirational in advance

Oh yeah, this is a whole 'nother world that's blowing my mind even though I've been around the underlying blockchain and token technologies for 4 years now! Things are changing and evolving so fast it's tough to keep up, but I'm always intrigued by the possible applications for independent creators.

@tipu curate

Very cool!

I saw you have at least one piece tokenized (don't know if any previous have sold...) I know I'd be very interested in seeing some of your 2D illustration pieces up for sale!

Congrats on the sales! Can't wait to see what else you mint!

Thanks! And thanks for the extra plugs and encouragement both here and on Discord. I'm perpetually an introvert in need of marketing help... 😬

Congratulations! This seems too complicated for my limited technological abilities, but I am glad it's going well for you and I hope that you will continue to do so.

I think very soon it'll seem a lot simpler, particularly here on Hive. This kind of stuff on Ethereum is currently getting wrecked by crazy transaction fees. I found the purchase process on NFT Showroom pretty simple. An easy button to load your wallet there with Hive, and just a couple clicks!

The big question is how people will view and respond to this type of digitized artwork. Sure, I've gone all digital with my music, video games, movies, and a solid chunk of comics and books even... but those are more consumables than collectibles. I can understand the collectible urge to hold a physical object in your hands.

That being said, I'd love to explore a bridge between worlds and potentially reward owners of my NFTs with physical goods and special rewards... lots to think about!

Sounds like a lot to think about :)

Wow. Great news. So happy for you. I'll have to try that too once I have some liquid Hive to spare. I will pick up one of your pieces for sure. ;-)

You know I'll sling some right back your way when you mint a piece or two!

Congratulations baby I hope you continue to do very well ... success...
