Never been a big fan of dubstep... it's only in the last 5 years that a coworker actually explained what it was after it came up in conversation and I wisely asked, "Dubstep? Is that a real word?"
But what can I say. I was doing some work tonight, "pre-visualizing" a page of my comic and starting to block out one of the first big action scenes. I threw on a playlist of music from Deadpool 2 as it's still stuck in my head, and right as my ass-kicking female protagonists first appear on the horizon in their sweet ride... the beat dropped. And I was diggin' it.

I've talked in the past about my love of mentally "soundtracking" my comics, and of my love for the Clip Studio Paint software. I'll use every scrap of musical motivation I can get as well as every dirty art trick in the book to get my idea onto paper as best as I can. This is just a quick look at both those things as I wind down for the night.
The Modern Day Artist Mannequin
I've been working a lot more with the 3d model tools of Clip Studio in the past couple weeks. I get my best page layouts when I take the time to go through stages like this. Using the tools available to solve all the problems of perspective, proportion, and experiment with camera angles and viewpoints that wouldn't have come naturally to me... it's a huge win.
I'll go on to completely redraw everything by hand, but these layouts serve the same purpose as a storyboard in film or animatic in the animation industry to help me prep my story.
This little guy is still a classic... but I think I'll stick with Clip Studio.
On Beatings and Beats...
So our pal Dave looks to be having a rough day. But, as he's violently coughing up blood... things start to look up for him!
Enter the ladies...
... and cue the music.
That's pretty much how the scene plays out in my head. Shit's about to go down. I get excited seeing it start to take shape like this, and it's a lot of fun... it brings back memories of playing with action figures as a kid! I hope some of you folks out there are as excited to see me get this comic put together as I am!
Well, it's off to bed for me. But I'd love to hear your thoughts on massive internal bleeding and dubstep! (Perhaps the two are linked?) Thanks for looking, reading, and commenting!
When I listen to music I have a hard time concentrating on anything else. Dubstep is really not my style of music, but occasionally I hear something that I really like. Never say never on a music style.
I've never listened to Dubstep, I'll look for it!
When I do my drawings I love to listen to music something like "Metal, Rock, New Metal" or a lot of "Electronica" they change my mood and it's crazy but I concentrate@bryan-imhoff I love your drawings! you have a great talent and I know that those ideas that come to mind soon will come true! so soon I will be reading that great story. I would like to do comic and I have some ideas, but like @kommienezuspadt says, it is difficult and I would not know how to do it.
I soundtrack everything I do! Have I mentioned....you have some serious talent and attention to detail!
For now you have the idea and motivation! It's a matter of working hard and finishing that project, I hope to see your work when finished
Haha that's pretty awesome. Definitely conveys that a storm of FISTS is coming
