Ben Reilly, better known as Chasm, finally gets his own book. Also jumping from the pages of "Web Of Spider-Man" is Kaine Parker, better known as Scarlet Spider. Both of them are clones of Spider-Man. They both possess many of Spider-Man's abilities, however, it appears that Chasm has found a darker side! This leads Scarlet Spider to keep tabs on Chasm seeing how Reilly is now the one with an evil side that tops the trouble that Parker was previously responsible for. Reilly's girlfriend, Hallows' Eve, still refuses to leave his side.
Chasm and Hallows' Eve find kids that are looking for a Rave but encounter many creatures that were referred to as "rats." One very large creature with a certain familiarity had the rats running, whom Chasm recognized as Freak. The kids were still rattled that these heroes not only saved them but took their money.
While the world on the surface is facing plenty of trouble, Druig from the Eternals is holding Mole Man introducing him to the havoc that is happening underground. We are left with Kaine still being in search of his brother and some very interesting Rat Men to be discovered at the morgue. The characters of this book present many future storyline possibilities with the setup in "Chasm: Curse Of Kaine" #1 and the stories that can be connected to other Spider-Man comics! I wish Steve Foxe, Andrea Broccardo, Brian Reber and VC's Joe Caramagna much luck with this one but if anyone can pull this off, they can.
