Ehh...I don't think it was either of your postulations really. Have you seen his show? His job is to pick random shit and bitch about it. Basically the same as a professional blogger, but more bitchy than most.

He should have thought better than to bitch about comics after an icon died...but it's not like that argument hasn't been made before.

Comics aren't great works of fiction most times. I have some old comics from the 70's that really suck. And I don't mean lesser known characters.

But that doesn't mean that there aren't great works out there. Comics are a unique form of art that combines drawing with limited story. The end result is not something akin to some great literary work...but something altogether different. It's a combination of literature and visual art that you spend months making your way through, perhaps even years. Sometimes the stories are dumb. Sometimes they're amazing. Sometimes they're just bits in a larger arch.

But it's not like every book is some great literary work. There are tons of shitty books. There are also very short books that are very simplistic stories.

Are we supposed to not appreciate art when we grow older?

And no matter what he says, it is art. The drawings in some of those comics take hours on end for an artist to produce. Some of them might not be that complex, but they have schedules and due dates.

Comics aren't often extremely profound works...but that doesn't mean they can't be. I have enjoyed quite a few comics that have moments that really get to you. The ones that Stan Lee helped create have an overarching message, to kids often yes, of acceptance, and trying to do what's right. They're like fables for the slightly older. And yes, adults can enjoy them. And those adults are free to enjoy whatever they want.

I somehow doubt that Trump supporters are also huge fans of visual novels that focus their stories on acceptance of different people, and being the best person you can be. But hey, I could be wrong. There are certainly comics with characters that are all about just fucking shit up and destroying everything. Maybe we'll find out that Trump is secretly Deadpool in a obese cheeto costume.

,uhm..what the fuck are you talking about? Have YOU seen his show? He doesn't just pick random shit, he takes news topics and gives his spin on them. He made this statement in direct relation to the death and reaction of the death of Stan Lee...so it is one possibility or the other.

ALSO...you continued on here for almost as long as I blogged, about an aspect of this story that I flat out said was besides the point and that I didn't want to get into. Please don't do that again, it's fucking rude. If that aspect of his comments are important to you...by all means blog about it on your page. but how it works is....I blog about something specific on a subject, you are encouraged to address that, not any dump your two cents on any random fucking facet of the subject in general that's been on your mind ( that's what your page is for). Its a blog, not a title of a forum. get it? ....that shit really drives me nuts
