I remember as a child in the 70's, bicycling to the store with my change in my mouth. It was summer. No socks, no bra, and no pockets.
Then I would have to wait outside the store while I dried off the money so that when I handed it to the clerk (also the owner - small town), she would have no idea.
I like to believe that this is one reason why I have a reasonably solid immune system. :-)
