RE: Utter Disappointment...

in #comics5 years ago

While it's probably useless to hope for it, I'd love to see this dirtbag arrested, prosecuted, and fined to within an inch of his ability to live in order to pay back his theft. But I feel like the guy did his stuff, got away with it, made his money, and has likely moved on to greener pastures.

When I was younger, starting around age 9 or thereabouts, I got into stamp collecting. We had a friend of the family who was preparing to move into a nursing home, but she had collected stamps for years. She told my grandmother that she would like me to have her collection once she moved out.

That stamp collection disappeared after the guys she hired to help her move got everything boxed and packed away. It was a collection appraised at over $10,000, with a plethora of errors, first-day covers, and international pieces that this woman had painstakingly organized and kept going back to the 1940's. Of course, there was no proof of anyone specifically having taken it, but it was heart-breaking to know it basically vanished into thin air.

I feel this dude's pain, and I hope recompense is forthcoming.
