Hey everyone!
Lately I haven't had much time to post and keep up with the comment of the day contest since most of my time currently goes to either curating or working on another steem related project.
When I first thought about another Steemian who could keep this going and is an awesome commenter I instantly thought of @awesomianist as I remembered his quality comments all over the platform, maybe his username gave him an extra edge for my brain to think of him first too. ^^
I chatted with him for a bit on steemit.chat and wanted to make sure the rules of payout distribution stay the same. He can choose to either give out 100% of the SteemDollars from the posting rewards to winning comments and their nominators or go 80% SD and 20% of the SP/Steem. He may change how the winners get selected if he wants and finds it to be more fair, I'll keep an eye on that at the start.
He is also free to use the image I created for CotD or create one himself and adjust the rules of how many participants (since we are gaining a bigger userbase) get to win per contest.
I will be supporting his posts with my upvotes on the daily and reserve the right to re-start the contest on my own page if the time comes when I feel I have the time to do focus more on it again.
Disclaimer, I don't know awesomianist personally nor have we done any deals about this (I don't get any share in posting rewards this creates except for the curation rewards from my votes). I chose him based on his comment history and cause I thought he'd be the right Steemian to keep this going.

It's a significant role I am glad to shoulder on with as much care and dedication as I can.
@acidyo and me, we've had a talk and as of now, The rules and payout structure will remain the same as we see how CotD performs under my care.
@acidyo reserves the right to take over the contest at any time and can decide any changes to it as he see fit.
But yes, do expect some slight changes (I will announce them as they come) as the contest go on but rest assured it is to make CotD contest better in quality .
