RE: Thinking about starting a community

in #communities5 years ago (edited)

I've just made (and mostly drunk), a gallon of tomato wine. It was three days old before i started tippling (after a 9 days fermentation).

Lovely! (kinda like a cloudy dry chardonnay)

I'm a wine bottom dweller, with very little distinction between 'top stuff' like chateau neuf de pap (is that how oyu spell it, even?), and my fruity home brew.

The big advantage of my own stuff (which makes it taste incredible!), is the fact I paid 85 cents-in total - for 5 bottles.
Now that's what makes a quality wine!lol

(And I've just bought 4 kilos of mango, and that's all going in the must bin, later today! Expensive stuff though this lot, it will set me back $1.25 or so)

Tomato wine? I didn't even know that was a thing. I do like a bit of home brewing. Tried my hand at some beers a couple of years ago and really enjoyed it.

Maybe I should re-think how broad the range of topics could be within this community. Including home made stuff would be awesome too.

If you can convert into alcohol, it them becomes 'a thing..'
( I was very pleasantly surprised with the tomato experiment, tbh -but recipes are all over the net).

MMMmmmmm...if not, my comments would be mostly about wine wankers, and where they put their corks...(until I got banned, obviously)..

I like the idea of a boozing community in general. I know that there are some very good home brewers (or were during Steemit days at least) on the platform.
