But with the STEEM Blockchain, this can be changed, enabling us to make drastic changes in our lives and also the lives for those who are willing to participate in the community either as contributors or as leaders in the community.
These are 3 live changing experiences which have impacted me and help me push myself to continuously to move forward and grow the community to a larger scale
1) We meet amazing people
The diverse people we've met whilst growing the community is just amazing. Some of their amazing traits would literally rub off on you and will shape you to be the person you are. Remember the law of attraction, as your intention in growing the community is clear and no other hidden objectives, you would also attract like minded people to follow your lead and help you grow the community.
2) Your bond with the people around your community is strengthen
There was a case where a fellow Steemian was on her way back home and was jumped by 3 men who then robbed her and molested her. She managed to run away and went home terrified and didn't tell anyone. Instead she blogged about it. Within minutes, the entire community came together and gave her the emotional support and some even went to her house just to make sure she is ok and helped her with the police report. The next day we all chipped in to buy her a teddy bear to cheer her up.
It was a clear distinction that even though it takes time to build trust among individuals however when everyone has a common goal and objective, the bonding is greater and when one is in need, everyone will come and help to the best of their efforts
3) Its all about sharing new experiences
As an individual , having an exciting moment without being able to share it with someone doesn't have much meaning in comparison of having a lot of passionate people sharing the same experience.
We had a charity drive which was for several orphanages. So with few words on the community chat room, instantly many people volunteered to join in and pitch a helping hand. We had a week to raise the funds and then deliver all the goods. Everyone came and helped out and we successfully delivered all the urgently required items to the orphanage within 7 days. What was so great about this was that we wanted to be there and have breakfast with the kids and decided that we would meet up at 5am in the morning to travel to the orphanage and deliver the goods in 5 cars. Without any hesitation, all volunteers were at the meetup point at 4:55am.
The amazing part was that because of everyone sharing the same objectives and wanted to be part of the experience of getting up so early to deliver goods to the orphanage before Christmas, our bond as a community even grew stronger and after that , the community grew two folds in size as we all had a common goal.
Summary
If you have a chance to be part of any community which you are passionate about, do take the leap and not just be a bystander however but participate and you will experience the true benefits of being part of a community.

Nice! Getting in touch with people in our neighborhood towards the positive impact of that society would create a mutual bond amongst each other and also improve the society.
This is one thing joining this community has done for me. I feel free to express my opinions and get a lot of positive response from people within the community. It's such as wonderful feeling. I remember my first steemit meet-up with @admiralsp, after discussing with him on that particular day, I felt a burden lifted from my shoulder as I expressed myself to him...
This community has indeed been a blessing.
Whilst it is fairly simple to scratch around for a few spare coins or buy some items for a collection, making the effort to deliver the goods and spend time with the children is the most courageous and valuable gift. I commend you and your caring community!
Great initiative. I'm always happy whenever I volunteer for a community development opportunity like this. The joy comes from the understanding that little I have can really make a huge difference in someone's life . The last volunteer experience, a visit to a prison yard, was awesome. Seeing inmate with renewed hope, some even enrol in schools taught me something different about life, that is never to lose hope.
community is the best
