I think the problem maybe is that us (Venezuelan) use the dot as the thousand separator sign, and we use comma sign for decimal numbers. This is one thousand for us: 1.000, and this is just one 1,000 (usually we just use two zeros after the comma sign: 1,00)

In France they also write numbers like that 1.000 is one thousand 10,00 is ten
