Food supply and production is tied to politics and big business, both of which can be very impersonal and work against the needs of regular people. A faction in power does not want to feed and add strength to the supporters of an opposing faction. Big business wants to control the supply of food such that everyone is forced to buy from them. The only true way to solve this issue is to apply a better form of limited government that insures that power and control remain primarily at the local level. Corporations should have limited charters with expiration dates, their influence in matters of government should be restricted by law to the discussion of matters that affect the good of the people and the environment and not the profit of the shareholders.
