In most countries, people buy products or services from a company. It is that company's responsibility to uphold their values as an entity and offer a value proposition to their customers.
However, in Morocco that is not true. In Morocco, a company is only as good as its employees and their ability to retain customers.
Good Customer Service Is Not an Expectation
In Morocco, when you go to a store, or a shoe seller, or a car servicing company you are not automatically offered good service. In fact, most of the time the service is slow, nonexistent, or brash.
One gets used to this as they enter shops, restaurants and other service centers.
Creating a Relationship for One's Own Creation of Good Service
Albeit, bad service is not what nonlocals are used to, one must have the patience to earn good service. This is done through the creation of good service.
Instead of heading to a restaurant for the first time and expecting great service only to be forgotten before, during and after the meal, find a person that works in that restaurant and become friendly with them.
This will ensure the next time you are at that restaurant, you will be greeted as you enter and offered a great table AND optimal service.
