RE: What I can offer as a Steemit Witness with @Steemcommunity (Already in the top 100)

https://github.com/steemit/overseer

Can you take a look at that and tell me about the data it is analyzing?

Luke references that and 'yo' just above the heading 'why you should care' in this post.

He calls overseer 'user analytics' and 'yo' 'event driven notifications'. https://steemit.com/steemit/@lukestokes/what-is-steemit-inc-doing

It seems to me if fedbook can make billions selling our data to spies, corporate or otherwise, then so too can any blockchain reader devised to gather the desired data.
Stinc already has lost the benefit of my doubt, depending on what analytics are in that package, this could be nothing.
Or it could anger many many people.

At some point we have to expect such nonsense, but if stinc is complicit,...?
I looked at it but they call it code for a reason.

Sort:

I dont see anything in the git about analytics, but then there are batches of code I can not read. I think one of the problems is communication. The newier people on steemit are not developers or coders and there is no one in between breaking things down to plain language. Its the same with SMT's - a white paper only developers can understand

Ive given up holding my breath on smt's, im skeptical now.
The lack of communication is ominous, too.
Why arent they proudly announcing their greatness?

Thanks for looking at that, i will ask around some more.

I'd appreciate being pinged should you refine your understanding.

Thanks!

Yep.
Somebody will be building the tracking software that will give them free what they currently have to buy from fedbook.
To think otherwise is not good crapitalism.
