Happy Sunday... well... almost... ok, ok... it's still going to be happy, even though it is cloudy and slightly damp outside. I'll try to refuse to let that affect my mood.
I finally got here to post. I MADE myself put a washing of clothes in and finish filling the kitchen dishwasher and get it going before I could bring my coffee and yogurt to my desk and get this done. Of course, it wasn't as simple as that, because every 2 seconds I stopped to do something else. I couldn't just do it and be done. Partway through those 2 little things, I saw something about Triple A and something nagged me as I know I always renew it in September. No single woman should be without it unless they are lucky enough to have mechanics in their family. I used to when our old folks were here and I live beside the best one there is, but he is in his late 80s now. Anyway, when your family/helpful friends choices run dry, Triple A is your next best friend. I realized I didn't remember getting a notice, so I had to stop before I finished both washers, come to the computer, find last year's notice and go pay for it for another year again. I am so dependent on getting their yearly notice and I don't think I got one this time.
Finally though, I got both washers going and here I am.
Not going to Mom's today, because I was out there yesterday. One of my sister's birthdays had been this past week, so me and my sibs met at Mom's to enjoy some fresh made brunswick stew (by a local fire department) and enjoy a visit. It was kicked up a notch, because another sister brought her grandson, 3 months old, for us to play with. 😂 That's our favorite toy these days. We had a grand visit, no pun intended.
Anyway, as I was leaving late in the day, at the top of Mom's drive, the sun was doing a fun burst through an opening in the clouds on the horizon, so I took a couple of photos with my phone.
It wasn't till I got home and downloaded the photos that I realized I had caught a UFO on my shots. I'm just SURE there were some aliens in it. Behind those trees on the horizon is a big lake. I bet they live under there somewhere. Just thought I'd show you.
Also, the greatest thing happened this week. For some years, I don't know how many, I have been dragging around the same organizer purse thing. When I bought it, it was never meant to be my main purse, just for when I wanted handsfree shopping or wanted to shop in what was then my nearest Walmart, which was full of sketchy people now and then. LOL ! I had other purses for other things, although I readily admit I have never been a purse girl. There's very few I ever really liked and they are sometimes a pain to have to keep up with. Anyway.....eventually, I just quit moving the important stuff from one purse to another and only drug this one around. I have washed it a time or two and as you can see, it is faded and worn.
I do have another one or two small ones that are fancier for dress up. I nearly never go anywhere that I dress up anymore though, so those purses will probably still be here when I die. LOL
A couple of years ago I looked for another just like it, but didn't find one. It was old as purse type things go, but still...then I quit looking and just kept using the old one. Imagine my total surprise when early this past week, I went on ebay to look once more and to see if I could find something similar. Almost instantly, this new one showed up and I could not believe my eyes ! Not similar, but exact AND new without tags ! They were asking a reasonable price for it and I ordered it right away! It got here yesterday while I was gone and it was exactly as presented. Still flat in it's clear plastic bag as if it had never been taken out and hung in a shop. I don't know how through the years it hid in the back stock somewhere or whatever and waited to come out when the universe knew I would be looking again. Uncanny ! 🤣
The straps were all crackly.....
You know, there is nothing that makes an OLD person happier than finding a new item just like an old favorite, that is worn and tattered, but that they couldn't let go of. It made me happy the whole evening after I found and ordered it and I was excited when I got the notice that it was out for delivery yesterday instead of Monday like it indicated.
So, as you can see, good things DO still happen in this world. I have already unloaded the old one on my art table and will soon load it back into the new one. Believe it or not too, I am actually going to throw the old one away.
😄
Yes, I'm being silly, but there is a huge ring of truth to most of it.
I hope you all have or have had a wonderful day and that you somehow find something you've been looking for that makes you even happier.
Love you !
Jacey
Greetings @jacey.boldart ,
What a lovely find....very happy for you. ^__^
Sounds like you have had quite a week. hehe
I am working on a new palette today....hope you are having an opportunity to do something related to art today as well.
Kind Regards,
Bleujay
I was SO silly happy. Now I don't have to learn to love something new and different. ha ha
It's been a pretty decent week.
I do something art related nearly every day. If I am not creating something new or working on something that is not quite finished, I may be re-organizing my art area as I clean up from where I've been creating before. I love that it is part of nearly every day. It makes me happy.
Trying new palettes or new styles is always fun.
Thanks for stopping over !
That really is an uncanny find. You and I are so alike in so many ways although I could do with a bit of your sunny disposition. 😁
I also only have one handbag, as we call them in the UK, that I use for daily stuff and a couple of "going out" ones which, like you, I rare use.
I will keep using mine until it wears out and then will probably buy my next one from a charity shop. I'm not sure why but there always seems to be a good selection of decent bags there.
Kind of hilarious... right ? You know brands put out designs for a certain amount of time and then they are gone normally. I don't know if any ever pull up old designs and re-issue them later or not. I don't really keep up with that, but in my mind, it seems this is one from the past. Either way, it's mine now !
It felt funny calling it a purse or pocketbook....or hand bag. I suppose most of my life I said "pocketbook".... because that is the word I grew up with. I'm sure it doesn't matter, but this company actually called this an organizer, which fits it perfectly as there are little pockets for your bills & coins (if you carry such things anymore), your credit cards and keys and the center that opens from a zipper on the top is just long enough for my smart phone to fit down in. Like most purses or the such, there is not an open area for a whole lot of extra stuff and that is one reason I like it.
I would buy from a charity shop in a total minute if they had something I liked in good shape. If I love it or it simply just works out great, I too will use them till they are tattered. It's usually quite annoying to have to find another I might like as well. LOL !
