Morning Shadows.....

in #community8 days ago
Yesterday morning, before 7:30 I was heading to the kitchen to get my yogurt and blackberries to take to my desk to eat while I worked. As I came through the living room the second time, I could see through the open blinds, the long shadows across the yard. The sun was coming up, but had not cleared the tops of the trees across the street. Of course, like always, nothing is ever as beautiful through the lens of a phone camera, but still, I could not resist going out and snapping a few photos. We've had some rain a few times in the last couple of weeks and everything is becoming amazingly green.

The air was cool, but not cold. It felt nice. I was a little surprised the sun between the branches of the tree in the center did not keep me from getting the shot, but thankfully, the limbs were covering it just enough to keep it from making a huge blind spot.

If I had not needed to go clock into work, I would spent a little while out there.

On the way back in, I took this quick photo of the dogwood tree. It's been windy here and the blooms are nearly all on the ground.... well.... the ones that haven't blown totally away yet. It almost looked like snow.

I just clocked off of work. 20 minutes before time to clock out, our main work program crashed hard and would not come back up. I am supposed to work 3 mandatory hours tomorrow (BOOOOOoooo)..... and so now I am wishfully dreaming that it won't be back up in the morning....LOL.... we'll see. I'm not sure if I am that lucky.
No matter for now, let the weekend begin !
Have fun, take care and stay safe!

Is a dogwood like a cherry blossom tree? It's one I'm totally not familiar with. Looks lovely though. Our bit is festooned with petals from the cherry blossoms!

I guess it might look a little like the cherry trees when blooming.... from a distance, but I don't think they are kin. In spring as you could tell, they are covered in blooms, but the only berry/seed type thing is in the fall and to my knowledge are not edible. The birds love them though. They are native to this area and although this one is white, there are other colors from a light pink to a deep pink. If there are more colors than that, I've never seen them.

Oh yeah, they do look a bit different right enough. I dont think we see many of them here. Probably too cold, lol!

I do love the flowering nonsense that comes with Spring!

"flowering nonsense" made me laugh. After viewing brown stick trees for months, it's hard not to love seeing flowery things and green things everywhere.

Yeah, totally. We were at a party in a garden today and it was kinda freezing but still really nice!

I'm glad it turned out nice. Freezing in the garden doesn't sound to fun !
